1. About these terms
These Terms of Use apply when you access or use pcotopography.co.uk, create an account, use free practice, or purchase PCO Topography Pro.
In these terms, “PCO Topography”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the operator of the PCO Topography service. You can contact us at info@pcotopography.co.uk.
2. What PCO Topography provides
PCO Topography provides independent educational and practice material intended to help users prepare for London topographical route-planning assessments and related skills.
We are not Transport for London. We are not affiliated with, approved by or endorsed by TfL. Practice scores, suggested routes and feedback provided by PCO Topography are not official assessment results and do not guarantee that you will pass any TfL assessment.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate account information and keep your password confidential. Your account is personal to you and must not be sold, transferred, shared or made available to other users.
To reduce account sharing, one account may have only one active authenticated session at a time. Signing in on another browser or device may end an earlier session.
4. Free practice
We may provide a limited free practice route or other trial functionality. Free access is intended to let a prospective customer evaluate the trainer before purchasing. We may apply reasonable technical measures to prevent repeated abuse of a free trial.
5. Pro access and pricing
The price, duration and included features shown on the checkout page at the time you purchase form part of your order. Our current standard offer is £29.99 as a one-off payment for 90 days of Pro access, but future prices or packages may change.
Changes to future prices do not retrospectively change the amount you already paid or the access period already purchased.
6. Payments
Payments are processed through Stripe. We do not ask you to send card details to us by email. Your access may be activated after the payment provider confirms successful payment.
7. Cancellations and refunds
Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under applicable consumer law.
If you believe you are entitled to cancel an online purchase or request a refund, contact info@pcotopography.co.uk with the email address used for the purchase. Statutory cancellation rights can depend on the nature of the digital service, when supply begins, and any consent or acknowledgement required by law.
If the service is faulty, materially different from its description, or otherwise gives rise to a statutory remedy, your legal rights remain unaffected.
8. Acceptable use
You must not:
- share, resell or commercially exploit account access;
- copy, scrape, download or reproduce the route bank in bulk;
- attempt to bypass access controls, payment controls or usage restrictions;
- interfere with the security or operation of the service;
- use automated tools to extract maps, route data, scoring logic or protected content without permission;
- use the service unlawfully or in a way that infringes another person’s rights.
9. Intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, the PCO Topography website, training content, interface, route datasets, scoring systems, written material, branding and original software are owned by or licensed to the operator of PCO Topography.
Purchasing access gives you a limited, personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the service during your access period. It does not transfer ownership of the content or software.
10. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service available, but we cannot promise uninterrupted access at every moment. Maintenance, hosting issues, security work or circumstances outside our reasonable control may temporarily affect availability.
We may improve, correct or update exercises, scoring, features and website content. We will not use this clause to remove statutory rights or avoid obligations relating to a purchase already made.
11. Accuracy and assessment outcomes
Training material is provided to support preparation. London roads, restrictions and official assessment requirements can change. You remain responsible for checking current official information where appropriate.
We do not guarantee any particular assessment result, licensing decision, employment outcome or level of performance.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access where we reasonably believe an account is being shared, compromised, used fraudulently, used to extract protected content, or otherwise used in material breach of these terms. Where appropriate, we may first contact you or allow the issue to be resolved.
13. Liability
We do not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Subject to those rights, PCO Topography is a training resource and is not responsible for an applicant failing an assessment, being refused a licence, losing income or making a business decision based solely on practice results.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the service, law or our business practices change. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated date. Material changes affecting an existing paid service will be handled consistently with applicable consumer law.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory rights you have as a consumer. If you live elsewhere in the UK, mandatory consumer protections and rights to bring proceedings in your home jurisdiction are not removed by this clause.
